MOL faced a high volume of repetitive, manual tasks across its operational and administrative teams — especially in finance, accounting, HR, and customer service. Given the organization’s scale, process restructuring or system integration would have required significant time and investment. As a result, MOL sought rapidly deployable, high-impact solutions that could deliver measurable results in the short term.

To address these challenges, MOL identified Robotic Process Automation (RPA) as a highly effective solution to reduce manual workloads. After evaluating several leading vendors, MOL chose UiPath technology — a platform that continues to be a global market leader in process automation. 


Alongside the initial pilot projects, MOL began establishing a comprehensive RPA framework across the organization. The objective was to integrate RPA into the company’s everyday operations, ensuring seamless alignment with IT developments and core business processes. 


Abesse enhances MOL’s processes through a proven, UiPath-based methodology. This approach emphasizes detailed process assessment, automation-focused design, and close collaboration with MOL’s subject-matter experts. Our objective is to deliver scalable, configurable solutions that ensure long-term operational efficiency and easy maintainability for MOL. 


Abesse supports a wide range of MOL’s business functions, including: 

  • Finance & Accounting – supplier invoice processing, bank reconciliation, payment posting, and reporting automation. 

  • HR Operations – employee offboarding, asset management, and personnel data maintenance. 

  • Customer Service – customer data processing and service management support. 

  • Controlling – financial framework monitoring and adjustment. 

  • Procurement & Logistics – supplier management, purchase order administration, and master data maintenance. 

 

Results

The implemented robots have driven substantial efficiency gains — with continuous automation handling over 500 transactions per day. Periodic robots are activated during critical periods, such as month-end closing, to relieve employees of excess workload and eliminate process bottlenecks.
