Business Problem
For a commercial media company, one of the most critical business processes is managing agreements with advertisers and planning/measuring ad placements that are optimized for specific target audiences. Previously, the company used a leading off-the-shelf software to support this process. However, it didn't fully meet their needs, change requests were implemented very slowly, and the software did not support workflow automation. On top of that, it was very expensive. To solve this problem, management decided to implement a new, custom-developed application.

Solution
After a multi-month requirements analysis, Abesse's business analysts designed the architecture for the new application, selected the appropriate technology platform, and development began. One of the most important functions is to support the automatic scheduling of ad blocks and spots according to defined criteria. Integration with playout software and the financial accounting system (SAP) were the other two critical functions of the system.
The application developed by Abesse supports the complete business process, from the sales team making agreements with advertisers to the system supporting optimal ad block planning that meets the requirements of multiple advertisers simultaneously, based on the recorded ad parameters. This is followed by providing the necessary information for program playout. Finally, based on the actual program content, the system compares it against the contractual obligations, which then enables the process of billing the advertisers and financial settlement.
Results
Because the entire value-creating process takes place within a single, integrated system and we supported critical process steps with numerous automations, significantly fewer manual interventions are required. A smaller sales team now works much more efficiently than before, and this new workflow also helps them more accurately fulfill their commitments to advertisers.
The system is easily and flexibly expandable with new features, which helps the company react more quickly to market changes.
